Gainetdinova/Bich teamed up in May 2011. Both competed in singles until then. He was ranked 4th at the 2010 Junior Nationals. His father Igor was a nationally ranked skater in singles and Pairs. The couple switched coaches in spring 2013. Coach Artur Dmitriev is the 1992 and 1998 Olympic Pairs Champion (with Natalia Mishkutionok and Oksana Kazakova).
